Network Marketing Tips: Recruiting Secrets For Beginners

What is the secret recruiting tip? Through my experience in life and my experience in network marketing I have talked to thousands of people.

I have recruited a ton of people myself personally. Here is one thing I have learned and I teach my team. Today I am going to share this secret with you.

Don’t Watch Their Mouth, Watch Their Feet.

This is the hardest lesson I have had to learn in my network marketing career. I trust and believe in people too much. I am not saying don’t believe people. I am just saying watch actions rather than getting emotionally committed to what they tell you.

Especially when you are talking to prospects. Prospects will tell you what you want to hear, so they do not have to continue to be on the phone with you or continue to talk with you. They are going to tell you they will join your business and then most will not.

For beginning network marketers this is really a roller coaster of emotions.

My Experience of Getting Emotionally Attached to the Outcome

Here is what happens with most beginning network marketers and here is the experience I went through . You may be able to relate to it. I cannot count how many people I had prospected on the phone in my office, and they told me they were going to buy the big pack and join my business tomorrow.

I would come busting out of the office, running down the hall. I would tell my wife, “Hey we got another consultant joining the business tomorrow!!!” I would be on cloud 900 on fire ready to tear life a new one! Shouting, dancing, hooping, and hollering. My wife would get so excited and we would talk about our dream life. Talk about how close it was and how this business was so easy. I mean we had our next “stud” recruit joining the business.

Then I would never hear from that prospect again. It is like they went into the witness protection program. It sounds crazy, right? But this happens to even the best recruiters in this profession.

I would get down and say, “Why?” They told me they were going to do it. I was listening to what they said rather than the actions that they did. I invested all my emotions into that prospect. I focused on the outcome instead of focusing on the process.

Focus on the Process Not the Outcome

That is something I had to learn the hard way and that is something I wanted to show you now. This is not only a network marketing tip, this is a tip in life. Don’t listen to what people say, watch what they do.

Actions are always louder than words, and it is an age old saying. But it is absolutely true. Especially true in this business.

When you are talking to prospects and when you are out there recruiting, don’t put your emotions on what they tell you. Watch what they do. Don’t be emotionally involved in the outcome. Whether they join your business or not, you are going to keep rocking and rolling because not one person is going to make or break your business.

Power Recruiting Mindset

If you have this mindset, you are going to be a better recruiter because you are not emotionally attached to whether they join you or not. You are not going to get hung up being like, “Man, they told me they were going to join and they never did.”

Why do people say things they and then don’t actually do what they say? I don’t know. I don’t really care. I am not going to spend my time wondering why they are not doing what they said. That is for somebody else to figure that out. That is not my job.

My job is to just go and let my actions speak for themselves. My job is to continue to talk to people every single day. My job is to keep recruiting in my business and make sure that I am putting my presentation in front of enough people every single day. That is my job.

That is a secret network marketing recruiting tip. I really feel like it is powerful for new people. Don’t get hung up on the outcome. Don’t focus on what people say, focus on what they do.
